HYDE PARK — Vermont State Police launched an investigation Friday into threats made against a Lamoille County Sheriff’s Department sergeant.
Elizabeth Masson-Monteith, 41, of Hyde Park, allegedly threatened to shoot and kill Sgt. Jason Perry, 42.
Investigators discovered Masson-Monteith had repeatedly contacted Perry and other sheriff’s department members over several months despite requests to stop.
Officials said Masson-Monteith was upset with the department over a drug-related investigation involving her tenant.
On Saturday, authorities obtained an Extreme Risk Protection Order and removed several firearms from Masson-Monteith’s possession.
Masson-Monteith was arrested on charges of criminal threatening and disorderly conduct.
She was released with a citation to appear at the Lamoille County Superior Court Criminal Division on March 24 at 12:30 p.m.
