CRANSTON — Cranston police are conducting a criminal investigation into the disappearance of a 45-year-old developmentally disabled woman after determining her caregiver provided false information about her whereabouts.
Linda DalLomba, a resident of a Lincoln group home, was reported missing by her caregiver on Wednesday, March 19, at approximately 3:58 p.m.
The caregiver initially claimed DalLomba disappeared around 2:30 p.m. while at Burlington Coat Factory, but surveillance footage revealed they were never at the store.
After receiving multiple conflicting statements from the caregiver, the department’s Special Investigations Unit took over the case.
Extensive search efforts have included aerial and ground operations, with assistance from the FBI, but there have been no confirmed sightings of DalLomba since her disappearance.
Police have interviewed multiple persons of interest and executed court-authorized search warrants at two residences connected to individuals believed to have knowledge of the case.
“We remain committed to locating Ms. DalLomba,” said Colonel Michael J. Winquist, Chief of the Cranston Police Department.
Authorities have shared DalLomba’s photograph with local news outlets and on social media, and have activated a Code Red alert to notify the public.
