BOURNE — Multiple 9-1-1 calls alerted authorities to a vehicle fire on Crows Nest Drive at approximately 2:36 a.m. Friday, according to the Bourne Police Department.
Officers arrived at the scene to find active flames inside a pickup truck parked off the side of the roadway.
Police were able to extinguish the fire using extinguishers from their cruisers before the flames could spread to nearby structures.
The interior of the pickup truck sustained heavy damage, officials said.
The Massachusetts State Police Fire Marshals Office was notified due to the nature of the fire and is now investigating the incident.
Bourne Police and Bourne Fire Department are assisting with the investigation.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
