UTICA — Members of the NY/NJ U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force arrested a Utica man Friday in connection with a 2023 shooting that injured two people.

Amhiz Hall, 26, was taken into custody on March 21 with assistance from Oneida County Sheriff’s Road Patrol and Utica Police Patrol units.

Hall’s arrest stems from an indictment returned by an Oneida County Grand Jury related to a shooting that occurred on July 16, 2023, on Elm Street in Utica.

Two individuals, ages 17 and 19 at the time, were struck by gunfire and suffered non-fatal injuries during the incident.

The Utica Police Department Major Crimes Unit investigated the case in partnership with the Oneida County District Attorney’s Office.

Hall faces charges of reckless endangerment in the first degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree.

Officials said Hall will be transported to the Oneida County Jail as the case proceeds through the Oneida County Court process.
