MATTAPOISETT — The Mattapoisett Police Department arrested three juveniles following a hit-and-run crash involving a stolen vehicle on Friday.
Police received a call about the crash at approximately 9:30 a.m. on Route 6 near the Mattapoisett Mobil Gas station.
Witnesses reported that one of the vehicles involved fled the scene and was last seen traveling on North Street.
Detective Tavares later located the vehicle disabled on the side of the road with extensive front-end damage.
According to police, witnesses reported seeing three males exit the vehicle and flee the area on foot.
Officers determined the vehicle had been stolen from Fall River earlier that morning.
After a brief search, Detective Tavares located three males matching the description on Church Street.
With assistance from Officers Fournier, Perry, and Myers, all three suspects were taken into custody and transported to the Mattapoisett Police Station for booking.
The recovered vehicle was towed to the police station for processing.
No injuries were reported in the crash.
Police said no additional information about the suspects would be released due to their age.
