AUSABLE — Two residents from Keeseville were identified following a fatal fire in AuSable in the early hours of March 20.
State Police responded to the fire at approximately 1 a.m. on Margaret Street.
Local fire departments managed to extinguish the blaze before discovering two deceased individuals inside the structure.
New York State Fire Investigators determined the fire to be accidental, with no signs of suspicious activity.
On the same day, autopsies were performed at Glens Falls Hospital by Forensic Pathologist Kristen Landi, Medical Examiner.
The deceased were positively identified as Elizabeth L. Shalton, 65, and William E. Regazzi, 65.
The cause and manner of death remain pending.
The investigation is ongoing.
