ANSONIA — Police have located a 26-year-old woman and her 2-year-old daughter who were reported missing earlier this week.
Mariliz Cruz and her daughter Anastasia Santiago were found safe, according to an update released by the Ansonia Police Department at 10:25 p.m. Thursday.
The pair had been reported missing by family members after they failed to return home.
They were last seen Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. in the area of Main Street and Maple Street.
Cruz is described as 4 feet 9 inches tall, weighing 148 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes.
She has a family infinity tattoo on her right arm.
She was last seen wearing blue pants and a gray sweater while pushing a black foldable stroller.
Her daughter Anastasia is 3 feet tall, weighing 35 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
She was wearing a pink top and pink sneakers.
Cruz does not drive and uses the bus for transportation.
The two were reportedly headed to New Haven when they left Ansonia.
