HIGHGATE — A Highgate man was issued a citation following a domestic incident on Partlow Road late Thursday night.

Jed Bertrand, 33, is accused of domestic assault, first-degree unlawful restraint, and violation of conditions of release, according to Vermont State Police.

Troopers from the St. Albans Barracks responded to the residence at approximately 11:02 p.m. after receiving a report of a domestic assault.

Investigation revealed that Bertrand had allegedly caused fear to a household member and unlawfully restrained them, police said.

While speaking with Bertrand, troopers determined he had violated his conditions of release by consuming alcohol.

Bertrand was issued a flash citation to appear in Franklin County Superior Court on March 21 at 1 p.m.

The identity of the victim was not released, as Vermont State Police does not disclose names of victims of domestic violence.
