WEST BRIDGEWATER — A Bridgewater man was arrested and charged with his third drunken driving offense after allegedly fleeing the scene of a three-vehicle crash Thursday night, police said.

Linh Cong Huynh, 51, faces charges of operating under the influence of liquor (third offense), operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and leaving the scene of property damage.

West Bridgewater police responded to a reported crash on West Center Street near South Elm Street at approximately 8:07 p.m. Thursday.

Officers found three vehicles involved in the collision but learned one driver had fled on foot, according to Police Chief Timothy Nixon.

No injuries were reported in the crash.

Police established a perimeter around the area, and Officer Richard Flaherty with K9 Fedor located Huynh about 50 yards into nearby woods.

Officers detected a strong odor of alcohol while speaking with Huynh, police said.

Following field sobriety tests, police determined Huynh had been operating under the influence.

Huynh was arraigned Friday in Brockton District Court and released on personal recognizance after posting $1,500 bail at the police station.

He is scheduled to appear in court on May 6 for a pre-trial hearing.
