WILLISTON — A New Hampshire woman was arrested for driving under the influence after Vermont State Police observed her speeding and driving erratically on Interstate 89 Thursday morning.
Ashley Ayotte, 34, of Newport, was traveling at 84 mph in a 65 mph zone near the Williston Rest Area at approximately 10:56 a.m. on March 20.
Troopers also observed Ayotte’s vehicle failing to maintain its lane and weaving on the roadway.
A traffic stop was initiated just after the Williston Whale’s Tails sculpture on I-89 Northbound.
During the interaction, troopers detected signs of impairment and arrested Ayotte on suspicion of DUI.
Ayotte was transported to the Williston Barracks for processing.
She was issued a citation to appear in Chittenden County Criminal Court on April 10 at 8:30 a.m.
