West Fairlee woman arrested on assault, disorderly conduct charges

WEST FAIRLEE — A local woman was arrested Thursday morning after allegedly assaulting a household member and causing a public disturbance, according to Vermont State Police.

Troopers from the St. Johnsbury Barracks responded to a call about a reported assault on Vermont Route 113 in West Fairlee at 9:33 a.m. on March 20.

Investigation revealed that Josephine Farnham, 40, of West Fairlee, had assaulted a household member and caused a public disturbance, police said.

During the arrest, authorities discovered Farnham had four outstanding arrest warrants for failure to appear on driving with license suspended charges.

Farnham was taken to the Bradford outpost for processing and later brought to court, where she was released on conditions.

The victim’s identity was not released in accordance with Vermont State Police policy regarding victims of domestic violence.
