SCHENECTADY — Schenectady Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run involving an 8-year-old boy that occurred on the evening of March 19 at the intersection of Chrisler Avenue and Crane Street.
Officers were dispatched at approximately 7:38 p.m. and found the child unresponsive at the scene.
The boy was transported to Ellis Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The vehicle involved fled the scene before police arrived, prompting an immediate search.
Officers located a vehicle believed to be involved in the Woodlawn area of Schenectady, and detectives are currently interviewing a person of interest.
The investigation is ongoing with assistance from the Schenectady County Sheriff’s Office.
