Haverstraw police arrest man on firearm, menacing charges

HAVERSTRAW — The Haverstraw Police Department has arrested Michael Green, 57, in connection with a menacing incident involving a firearm.

The arrest follows an investigation that began on March 19 when police responded to a report of an altercation in the Village of Haverstraw.

Upon arrival, patrol units located the victim and initiated an investigation into the alleged menacing incident.

Additional units canvassed the area and successfully located the suspect, Michael Green, who was positively identified.

The investigation continued with a search for video surveillance footage, which led to the execution of a search warrant at Green’s residence.

During the search, a loaded firearm was recovered.

As a result of the investigation, Michael Green has been charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree (Class C Felony), Menacing in the 2nd Degree (Class A Misdemeanor), and Harassment (Violation).

Green was arraigned in the Village of Haverstraw Justice Court and subsequently remanded to the custody of the Rockland County Correctional Facility.
