SHAFTSBURY — A Mississippi man faces charges after crashing his vehicle on Route 7A near Highland Woods Drive Thursday afternoon.
Vermont State Police responded to the single-vehicle crash at 1:38 p.m. where they found a 2009 Mercedes Benz E Class had gone off the roadway and struck an embankment.
The driver, Christopher R. Landis, 50, of Madison, Mississippi, had been driving erratically and passing vehicles before the crash, according to police.
Landis, who was wearing a seat belt, sustained minor injuries in the crash.
His vehicle was totaled.
Police issued Landis civil violations for improper lane usage and driving without a license.
Landis was also cited to appear in Vermont Superior Court Bennington Criminal Division on May 5 to face charges of negligent operation.
The crash occurred during cloudy conditions with a temperature of 62 degrees.
Road conditions were clear and dry at the time.
