CORTLANDT — Three Connecticut residents were arrested March 13 in connection with an organized retail theft operation targeting Kohl’s stores in the region, according to New York State Police.
Troopers responded to a report of individuals concealing merchandise at the Kohl’s store in Cortlandt Manor.
The suspects were apprehended while attempting to leave the store with stolen items valued at $6,152.88, police said.
Tyeisha R. Bridges, 32, of Hartford, Conn.; Shatoya A. Lewis, 25, of Hartford, Conn.; and Eve G. Mitto, 23, of Windsor, Conn., were each charged with grand larceny in the 3rd degree and criminal possession of stolen property in the 3rd degree, both class D felonies.
Further investigation linked the suspects to a separate theft at the Kohl’s store in Bedford, where they allegedly stole merchandise valued at $10,020.21.
The suspects were arraigned March 13 and released on their own recognizance before being turned over to the Town of Bedford Police Department for further investigation.
Investigators believe the individuals are part of an organized retail theft group targeting Kohl’s locations across the Tri-State Area.
