SPRINGFIELD — Two suspects were arrested Thursday after Springfield police seized nearly 500 bags of heroin, cocaine and crack-cocaine during a traffic stop on Union Street.
Around 5:45 p.m., members of the Springfield Police C3 Unit conducted a traffic stop on Union Street between Oak and Walnut Streets due to a lack of an inspection sticker.
When officers approached the vehicle, they noticed several bags of heroin on the floorboard.
The driver, identified as Jacob Mayock, also had heroin in his pocket and was placed under arrest.
The passenger, Emily Deblok, was detained during a search of the vehicle.
Officers located crack-cocaine and cocaine inside the car in addition to more than 400 bags of heroin packaged for sale.
In total, 473 bags of heroin were recovered.
Officers also recovered cocaine in Deblok’s purse, and she was subsequently arrested.
Mayock, 35, of Springfield, is charged with possession with the intent to distribute a Class A drug – subsequent offense, possession with the intent to distribute a Class B drug – subsequent offense (two counts), and conspiracy to violate drug laws.
Deblok, 33, of East Longmeadow, is charged with possession with the intent to distribute a Class A drug, possession of a Class B drug, and conspiracy to violate drug laws.
