PROVIDENCE — Rhode Island State Police arrested a Providence man on an outstanding warrant following a traffic stop Sunday night.

Troopers from the Lincoln Woods Barracks took Christian Nunez, 30, of 99 Rugby Street, Apt. 5, into custody at 9:47 p.m. after stopping his vehicle on John J. Partington Way.

Nunez was wanted on a Kent County Superior Court bench warrant for failure to appear for a pre-arraignment conference.

The original charge stemmed from the East Greenwich Police Department for possession of Schedule I-V controlled substance, less than 10 grams.

After processing at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, Nunez was transported to the Adult Correctional Institution-Men’s Intake Center.
