NH state police make 60 arrests during St. Patrick’s Day weekend

CONCORD — New Hampshire State Police arrested 60 people and pulled over nearly 1,800 vehicles during a high-visibility enforcement initiative over St. Patrick’s Day weekend.

The operation ran from the early morning of Friday, March 14, until 2 a.m. on Tuesday, March 18.

Troopers made a total of 1,785 traffic stops resulting in 647 summonses and 1,384 warnings, according to state police.

The initiative included 30 additional patrols specifically focused on finding impaired and speeding drivers.

Of the 60 arrests made, 32 were for traffic-related offenses, including 20 for driving while intoxicated.

The remaining 28 arrests were for warrants, drug offenses or other criminal violations.

During the holiday weekend, troopers also responded to 49 crashes, including 37 without injuries, five with minor injuries and seven hit-and-runs.

No fatal crashes were reported during the enforcement period.
