NEW LONDON — A man died Tuesday after being shot in a residential area of New London, according to police.
Officers responded to the area of 22 Moore Ave. at approximately 6:18 p.m. following reports of gunshots and a possible gunshot victim.
Upon arrival, police found an adult male with gunshot wounds to his torso.
Officers immediately provided medical aid at the scene before the victim was transported to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Investigators from the New London Police Department’s Detective Bureau processed the scene and are actively investigating the shooting.
Police said the incident does not appear to be a random act.
