IRA — A 57-year-old Ira man was arrested on a felony sex abuse charge following an early morning incident, according to the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office.
Thomas A. Crittenden II was charged with first-degree sex abuse, a class D felony, after deputies responded to a reported sexual assault in the Town of Ira.
Sheriff Brian Schenck said deputies were called to an address in Ira at approximately 2:51 a.m. on March 17.
Investigators determined Crittenden had allegedly engaged in sexual contact with another individual without their consent.
Crittenden was transported to the Cayuga County Public Safety Building for processing following his arrest.
He was arraigned at Centralized Arraignment Part court and released after posting $2,500 cash bail.
Crittenden is scheduled to appear in Ira Town Court on March 21 at noon.
Sheriff’s officials said no further details would be released as the investigation remains ongoing.
