COLCHESTER — Officers arrested two people on active warrants after responding to reports of suspects going through vehicles on Bean Road early Wednesday morning.
On March 19 at approximately 6:15 a.m., Colchester Police Department officers were dispatched to Bean Road after a caller reported a male and female searching through vehicles.
The caller told police the suspects left in an SUV and provided the license plate number.
Responding officers spotted the SUV leaving the area and followed it to a driveway on Prim Road.
When the vehicle stopped, the male driver and a female passenger fled on foot while a third occupant remained in the vehicle.
Officers detained the third occupant and confirmed the SUV had been reported stolen from Burlington.
Police located and detained the two fleeing suspects shortly afterward.
Kainen Hayden, 39, of Burlington, and Lyndsay Herman, 44, of Jeffersonville, were taken into custody on active arrest warrants.
Hayden faces additional charges including one count of aggravated operation without owner’s consent and two counts of violation of conditions of release.
