CLIFTON SPRINGS — A member of the Clifton Springs Fire Department has been suspended following his arrest for allegedly setting fire to a large dumpster.
Joshua Musgrove was arrested Tuesday, March 18, for intentionally setting the fire, according to a statement released by the department.
Fire officials said they conduct arson background checks in accordance with New York State law before accepting new members.
“At the time of Joshua’s application, there was no reason to suspect that he had any inclination to start fires,” the statement said.
The department confirmed that Musgrove will be terminated if convicted of the arson charge.
The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office has completed its investigation of the incident.
