PUTNEY — A 62-year-old Putney man faces animal cruelty and reckless endangerment charges after allegedly shooting and killing a neighbor’s dog.
Michael A. Kirkpatrick was arrested following a November 27 investigation by the Windham County Sheriff’s Office into the dog’s death on Lower Cassidy Road, authorities said.
Deputies determined Kirkpatrick shot the dog and removed its identification.
Police also say he discharged the firearm in a reckless manner.
Kirkpatrick was released with a citation to appear in court at a later date.
