FALL RIVER — Officers from the Fall River Police Department are investigating a report of a male with a gun in his waistband in the area of Amity Street near Henry Lord School.
An officer assigned to a detail at Bennie Costa Plaza was alerted to the situation.
The individual was never on school grounds, and there is no threat to students, according to police.
As a precaution, the school was asked to shelter in place while officers conducted their investigation and ensured the safety of the neighborhood.
