GENESEO — A Livonia man faces felony and misdemeanor charges after deputies allegedly found fentanyl and stolen property during a traffic stop.
Deputy Jason Page stopped a vehicle on Lakeville Road in the Village of Geneseo at approximately 3:30 p.m. March 16 after observing it had two different license plates.
The driver was identified as James Aman II, 40, of Livonia.
During the investigation, deputies found drug paraphernalia in the vehicle and discovered one of the license plates had been reported stolen in February.
While being transported to the Livingston County Jail, Aman allegedly made suspicious movements in the patrol vehicle.
When the deputy checked on him, Aman was found with more than ten bags of suspected fentanyl concealed on his person, which later tested positive for the drug.
Aman was charged with felony tampering with physical evidence, criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the third degree, and other vehicle and traffic law violations.
Following arraignment at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part before Town of York Justice Porter, Aman was released on his own recognizance as the charges do not qualify for bail under the New York State Bail Reform Act.
