1 min read

BERLIN — The Berlin Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a non-contact vehicle that was in the area of a serious motorcycle versus car crash that occurred Thursday at approximately 6 p.m. on Farmington Ave at the intersection with Lower Lane and the driveway to Stop and Shop.

The condition of the motorcycle operator, 34-year-old Christopher Pahl of Middletown, is still considered critical following the March 13 collision.

Police are looking to speak with the occupants of a white Toyota RAV-4 SUV that pulled into the Stop & Shop driveway and stopped briefly before continuing into the parking area after the crash.

Investigators believe the occupants of the Toyota witnessed the crash and could provide valuable information.

According to police, the accident occurred when a motorcycle traveling west on Farmington Ave collided with a vehicle going east that was waiting to turn left into the Stop and Shop driveway.

The motorcycle operator sustained serious injuries and was initially transported by ambulance to The Hospital of Central CT in New Britain.

Pahl was later flown by Lifestar to Hartford Hospital in critical condition.

The operator of the other vehicle involved was not injured.

The Mid-State Accident Reconstruction Squad responded and processed the scene, with the roadway reopening at approximately 8:45 p.m.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or recognizes the Toyota SUV is asked to call Berlin Police Officer Brendan Clark at 860-828-7080.
