SOUTH WINDSOR — Two men were arrested Monday after allegedly stealing nearly $1,000 worth of Lego sets from Target, police said.
Daunte J. Brinkley, 27, of Middletown and Mason Rashaun, 27, of East Hartford were taken into custody at 8:58 a.m. after store loss prevention reported the theft in progress at the 125 Buckland Hills Drive location.
Both men were charged with conspiracy to commit larceny in the 5th degree and larceny in the 5th degree.
They were processed and released on $1,000 non-surety bonds and are scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court on April 2 at 9 a.m.
In a separate incident, Kirk C. Foster, 49, of Windsor was arrested at 3:05 p.m. Monday after allegedly attempting to cash a fraudulent check for $1,580.90 at American Eagle Credit Union on Buckland Road.
Police said Foster had cashed similar fraudulent checks at the credit union’s East Hartford, Bloomfield, and West Hartford locations earlier that day, totaling over $8,000.
Foster, who also had an outstanding warrant for failure to respond to a payable violation, was released on a $5,500 surety bond.
He is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court on April 2 for the forgery and larceny charges and in Hartford Superior Court on March 31 at 9 a.m. for the warrant charge.
In a third incident, Jayden Perez, 19, of Hartford turned himself in to police at 2:43 a.m. Tuesday on charges stemming from a December 2024 hit-and-run accident on Route 5.
Perez allegedly fled the scene on foot after causing the accident and was later identified as the driver.
He faces charges of evading responsibility, reckless driving, operating without minimum insurance, improper use of registration plate, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and operating without a license.
Perez was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court on April 7 at 9 a.m.
