1 dead in early morning Lansing house fire

LANSING — New York State Police and multiple fire companies were dispatched to 318 Asbury Road for a residential fire around 4 a.m. Tuesday, March 18.

One person was found deceased inside the residence by firefighters.

Fire departments responding to the scene included Lansing Fire Department Inc., Groton Fire Department, Freeville Fire Department, McLean Fire and Rescue, Varna Volunteer Fire Co., Cayuga Heights Fire Department and Tompkins Airport Fire Rescue.

State Fire officials are also on scene.

The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
