SOUTHBOROUGH — A man was arrested Friday night after allegedly breaking into a vacant restaurant building at the corner of Parkerville Road and Turnpike Road.
Southborough Police responded to a 911 call at approximately 8:25 p.m. on March 14 reporting someone had entered the boarded-up former Andrea Restaurant.
Officers searched the exterior of the property, which is surrounded by a chain link fence, and discovered a section of the exterior wall had been forcefully removed.
The reporting party confirmed someone had entered the building and remained inside.
Police requested assistance from Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council (CEMLEC) and Massachusetts State Police K-9 units.
Upon arrival, the K-9 teams entered the building and located Raul Ortega Rivera of Glenville Avenue in Allston.
Following an investigation, Southborough Police charged Rivera with breaking and entering with intent to commit a felony (nighttime), possession of burglarious tools, and vandalism.
Rivera was taken into custody and transported to the Southborough Police Department for booking and processing.
