LEWISTON — A Washington state man was arrested Saturday in connection with a burglary at a Cayuga Street business, according to the Lewiston Police Department.
Robert A. Merk, 56, of Gig Harbor, Washington, was taken into custody in the Town of Porter following a two-day investigation.
The incident began Thursday when officers responded to a report of larceny and criminal mischief at a business in the Village of Lewiston.
Merk has been charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree criminal mischief and petit larceny.
He is currently being held at the Niagara County Jail pending centralized arraignment.
Lewiston Police were assisted at the scene of the arrest by the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police.
