Man arrested for rape of juvenile in Locke

AUBURN — The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation has arrested a 43-year-old Locke man on charges of second-degree rape involving a juvenile under the age of 15.

Christopher T. Quaile was charged following an investigation into allegations of sexual abuse that occurred at his residence during summer 2023.

The investigation began Jan. 14 when Cortland County Child Protective Services contacted State Police regarding disclosures made by the victim.

Investigators determined Quaile engaged in criminal sexual conduct with the victim on multiple occasions in July 2023.

On March 5, after coordination with the Cayuga County District Attorney’s Office, authorities obtained an Order to Produce to bring Quaile from the Cayuga County Jail, where he was already in custody on separate charges.

He was officially charged with second-degree rape, a class D felony, on March 10 at the State Police station in Auburn.

Following his arrest and processing, Quaile was transported back to the Cayuga County Jail to await CAP arraignment.

Prosecutors recommended no bail due to Quaile’s prior felony convictions and pending sentencing on an unrelated felony case.
