CONCORD — A 50-year-old Concord man faces multiple weapons charges after allegedly shooting his pet pig and possessing firearms in violation of an active order of protection.

Marc Reszka was arrested on March 14 following a welfare check at his Springville-Boston Road residence, according to Erie County Sheriff John C. Garcia.

The incident began just before 10 p.m. when dispatch received a call from a veterinary hospital representative who reported that Reszka had called in an upset state after euthanizing his pet pig with a firearm.

Deputies responding to the scene found Reszka appearing disheveled and upset, with dried blood drops and smears visible on the floor.

The deceased pig was discovered in a garbage bag in the entryway of the home.

Deputies observed 11 firearms in plain view throughout the residence, despite an active order of protection requiring Reszka to surrender all firearms.

When officers attempted to handcuff him, Reszka allegedly pushed away and fled toward nearby woods.

After ignoring multiple warnings that he would be tased if he continued running, deputies deployed a taser, causing him to fall to the ground.

Reszka was transported to Bertrand Chaffee Hospital for evaluation before being taken to the Erie County Holding Center.

He faces 25 charges including first-degree criminal use of a firearm, first-degree criminal possession of a weapon, multiple counts of criminal possession of a firearm, criminal contempt, resisting arrest and obstructing governmental administration.
