South Carolina fugitive arrested in Auburn

AUBURN — Officers of the Auburn Police Department arrested a wanted fugitive from South Carolina on March 13 at a residence on Orchard Street.

Jamiah N. Franklin, 19, of Conway, South Carolina, was taken into custody without incident at approximately 2:29 p.m. while officers were assigned to the Gun Involved Violence Elimination (GIVE) detail.

Officers received third-party information that Franklin, who was wanted for Burglary First Degree and Kidnapping following a home invasion involving a gun in Conway, South Carolina, was at an address on Orchard Street in Auburn.

Police responded to the location and conducted a warrant check at the residence.

While speaking with a resident, officers learned that Franklin was inside the home.

Franklin was subsequently taken into custody and held as a Fugitive from Justice for Burglary First Degree and Kidnapping.
