Police seek information in Jamestown homicide investigation

1 min read

JAMESTOWN — The Jamestown Police Department is investigating the homicide of Jerad Davis, who was found dead on May 2 at a Buffalo Street residence.

Police and fire department personnel initially responded to 442 Buffalo Street for a reported overdose.

Through investigation with the Chautauqua County Coroner’s Office, District Attorney’s Office, Erie County Medical Examiner’s Office, and the Davis family, authorities determined Davis died from injuries sustained in an assault, not an overdose.

Investigators have identified a person of interest in the case and have received information from additional witnesses.

The police department is asking anyone who observed or had contact with Davis from approximately March 1 through May 2, or who was inside the apartment at 442 Buffalo Street during that period, to come forward.

Those with information can contact the Jamestown Police Department Detective Bureau at 716-483-7536 or the anonymous tip line at 716-483-TIPS (8477).
