ROME — An Oneida County probation officer was arrested for official misconduct after allegedly hiring a person on probation to complete concrete work at her residence.
Christina Greiner, 61, of Rome, was arrested March 14 by the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Warrants Unit following a grand jury indictment.
The investigation began Jan. 2 when the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by the Oneida County Probation Department regarding potential official misconduct.
Officials reported that Greiner had hired an individual who was currently on probation and under her direct supervision to perform concrete work at her home.
After completing their investigation, the sheriff’s office turned the case over to the Oneida County District Attorney’s Office for review.
The case was subsequently presented to a grand jury, resulting in an indictment warrant for Greiner.
Greiner was charged with official misconduct, a class A misdemeanor.
Following her arrest, Greiner was processed, arraigned and released on her own recognizance.
