BEEKMAN — A 49-year-old Beekman man was arrested on multiple charges including sexual conduct against a child following an investigation by state police and the Dutchess County Child Advocacy Center.

Eric Pentenrieder was taken into custody March 14 by the State Police Poughkeepsie Bureau of Criminal Investigation on charges of forcible touching, sexual abuse in the 2nd and 3rd degrees, endangering the welfare of a child, and sexual conduct against a child in the 1st degree.

Investigators determined Pentenrieder had inappropriate contact with two children under the age of 14 who were not related to him, between November 2021 and January 2024.

The most serious charge, sexual conduct against a child in the 1st degree, is a class B felony, while the other charges are misdemeanors.

Pentenrieder was arraigned at Beekman Town Court and ordered held at the Dutchess County Jail on $25,000 cash bail, $50,000 bond, or $250,000 fully secured bond.

He is scheduled to reappear in the Town of Beekman Court on March 19.

Authorities are asking anyone with information regarding this case or other incidents involving Pentenrieder to contact Investigator Christopher Gonyo at (845) 677-7300.
