PITTSFIELD — A Rutland man sustained minor injuries after his truck crashed into a retaining wall near the Village Green on Monday morning.

Troopers from the Vermont State Police Rutland Barracks responded to a single-vehicle crash on VT Route 100 at approximately 7:30 a.m. on March 10.

Maverick Gero, 26, was driving a 2014 GMC Sierra northbound when he failed to maintain his lane of travel, according to police.

The truck exited the roadway, traveled through a snowbank and collided with a retaining wall before coming to rest in an uncontrolled position on the road.

Gero was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and sustained suspected minor injuries.

He declined transport to a hospital.

The truck sustained substantial front-end damage.

The Pittsfield Fire Department and White River Valley Ambulance assisted state police at the scene.

A Vermont Civil Violation Complaint is pending.
