Man shot at gathering in Auburn, police find 60 shell casings

AUBURN — A man was shot during a gathering in Auburn early Sunday, with police finding approximately 60 spent shell casings at the scene.

Auburn Police Dispatch received a call for possible shots fired in the area of 65 Southbridge Street at approximately 2 a.m.

Upon arrival, officers located one adult male victim to whom they rendered aid.

The man was transported to a local hospital with injuries believed to be non-life threatening.

Police said this appears to be an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public at this time.

The matter is being investigated by Auburn Police Detectives, who are not releasing further information at this time.

Authorities said updates will be provided when appropriate.
