MILFORD — A man was arrested Thursday morning following reports of a firearm discharge and threats at a residence on Henderson Lane.
According to the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office, a female victim reported the threatening incident at approximately 8:45 a.m. on March 6.
The victim told deputies that a male suspect had discharged a firearm at the residence and had left while making additional threats.
Law enforcement was immediately dispatched to the home, while additional resources were provided to the Milford school and a nearby daycare.
Deputies remained present at both educational facilities throughout the incident.
A perimeter was established with county, state, and local police while negotiators attempted to contact the male suspect and warrants were being prepared.
While waiting for additional resources, dispatch received information that the suspect might be walking on County Road in Milford.
Deputies responded quickly and took the man into custody without incident.
The suspect was not armed at the time of his arrest.
Several resources remain in the area conducting follow-up investigations, but authorities confirm there is no danger to the public.
The suspect’s name and additional information will be released when appropriate, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
The Maine State Police and Old Town Police Department assisted the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office during the incident.
