TEWKSBURY — The Tewksbury Police Department arrested and charged an Andover man with drug distribution following an investigation by the department’s Narcotics Unit.
David Chomicz, 41, of Andover, was arrested and charged with distribution of a Class A substance (subsequent offense).
On Tuesday, March 4, at about 8:35 p.m., Tewksbury Police arrested Chomicz as part of an ongoing investigation.
Chomicz was arrested without incident after allegedly selling approximately 9.8 grams of fentanyl in the area of Ames Hill Drive.
Police found two bundles of cash totaling about $312 on Chomicz’s person.
During a subsequent search of Chomicz’s hotel room, police found a digital scale and drug-related paraphernalia.
Over the course of the investigation, police learned that Chomicz was likely under the influence of narcotics.
Chomicz was transported to an area hospital for medical evaluation as a precaution before being returned to the police department without incident.
Chomicz will be arraigned in Lowell District Court on Wednesday, March 5.
