HIGHGATE — A single-vehicle crash occurred on snow-covered VT Route 78 in Highgate on March 4 at approximately 4:29 p.m.
Troopers from the Vermont State Police’s St. Albans Barracks responded to the incident at the intersection of VT Route 78 and Hanna Road, where a 2016 Mazda 6 struck a telephone pole.
The car, operated by 20-year-old Gabriel Bates of Franklin, sustained front-end damage.
Shawnie Hemond, 21, of Richford, was the passenger.
Both Bates and Hemond were wearing seat belts and were unharmed.
Emergency services, including Missisquoi Valley Rescue and Highgate Fire Department, assisted at the scene.
