Irasburg man arrested on multiple charges after traffic stop in St. Johnsbury

ST. JOHNSBURY — A 32-year-old Irasburg man was arrested Wednesday after Vermont State Police discovered he was driving with a suspended license and had an outstanding warrant.

Tyler Bathalon was taken into custody around 11:01 a.m. on March 5 following a traffic stop near the intersection of U.S. Route 5 and Main Street.

Troopers initiated the stop after observing a traffic violation and subsequently determined Bathalon was operating a vehicle with a criminally suspended driver’s license.

During the encounter, police said Bathalon provided false information by identifying himself as a relative.

After correctly identifying Bathalon, troopers discovered he was wanted on an outstanding warrant for DUI – Drugs.

Bathalon was transported to the Vermont State Police St. Johnsbury Barracks for processing.

He faces charges including driving with a criminally suspended license, identity theft, and providing false information to law enforcement officers, in addition to the existing warrant.

Bathalon is scheduled to appear in Lamoille County Superior Court on March 6 at 12:30 p.m. and in Caledonia County Superior Court on March 31 at 8:30 a.m.
