BOSTON — Officers from the South Boston District C-6 arrested Alixon Romero Roa, 37, of Boston, on charges of drug trafficking Monday evening.
The arrest took place around 7:50 p.m. on March 3, when officers were patrolling the area around 419 Old Colony Avenue in response to community complaints about drug activity and quality of life concerns.
While patrolling the building’s hallways, officers saw a man loitering outside an apartment. When he noticed the officers, the man quickly entered the apartment.
The officers then left to respond to a radio call, but when they returned to the address, they saw the same man outside. As soon as he saw the officers, he ran inside the building.
Officers engaged in a foot pursuit and stopped the suspect in a hallway. During a search of the suspect’s flight path, officers recovered two plastic bags containing drugs: approximately sixteen grams of Fentanyl and an unspecified amount of crack cocaine.
In addition to the drugs, officers recovered $950 in U.S. currency from the suspect.
Romero Roa was charged with trafficking of Class A drugs and possession with intent to distribute Class B drugs. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.
