SMYRNA — The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office arrested Kristopher A. Kovack on Feb. 27.
Kovack, 43, was charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree and providing a false written statement.
Authorities said Kovack was found in possession of a stolen firearm.
He provided a statement during the investigation that was later determined to be false.
Kovack was arraigned at the Chenango County CAP Court and released on his own recognizance.
He was given a separate court date.
