Authorities identify Craftsbury resident in fatal vehicle fire in Warren

CRAFTSBURY — A man found dead in a burning car in Warren has been identified as Jeremiah Wild, 29, of Craftsbury, Vermont State Police said Tuesday.

An autopsy determined Wild died of thermal burns and smoke inhalation. The manner of death is classified as undetermined, but investigators do not consider the death suspicious.

The vehicle fire was reported by a passerby around 11:30 a.m. Monday at a parking area along Vermont Route 100. Warren firefighters extinguished the blaze and discovered the body in the driver’s seat.

State police responded with uniformed troopers, criminal investigators, and fire investigators to examine the scene and determine the cause of the fire.
