STAMFORD — Stamford police are disputing misinformation surrounding an alleged shootout reported in the High Ridge area on Feb. 27.
According to police, no shootout or gunfire incident occurred despite rumors circulating on social media.
Department officials confirmed that an arrest took place in the High Ridge neighborhood as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation involving the Narcotics and Organized Crime Unit, the Drug Enforcement Administration and Stamford Police Special Response Team.
The department emphasizes that claims of gunfire exchanged during the arrest are completely false.
Police said they will provide further details to the public once information about the arrest can be officially released.
