Four arrested by Rhode Island State Police on larceny, fugitive charges

PROVIDENCE — Rhode Island State Police arrested four individuals Tuesday on charges ranging from larceny to being fugitives from justice.

At 10:03 a.m., troopers arrested Lilliam Rivas, 44, of 209 Columbia Road, Apartment #1, Boston, Massachusetts, on an affidavit and arrest warrant issued by the North Providence Police Department.

Rivas faces charges of failure to report a rental vehicle and larceny over $10,000.

The arrest occurred during a motor vehicle stop on Westminster Street in Providence.

She was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and transported to Third Division District Court for arraignment.

At 10:52 a.m., troopers arrested Devonte Bonds, 29, of 850 Main Street, Apartment #2, Pawtucket, Rhode Island, on an affidavit and arrest warrant issued by the Rhode Island State Police for eluding law enforcement.

The Pawtucket Police Department notified State Police after taking Bonds into custody.

He was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and then brought to Sixth Division District Court for arraignment.

At 3:15 p.m., troopers arrested David Bottoms, 54, of 37 Laundry Street, Woonsocket, Rhode Island, charging him as a fugitive from justice related to an original charge of larceny filed by Milford, Massachusetts, police.

Bottoms was arrested while State Police assisted sheriff’s officers at Sixth Division District Court.

Following processing at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, he was arraigned by a justice of the peace and transported to the Adult Correctional Institution – Men’s Intake Center.

At 11:00 p.m., troopers arrested Jose Torres Torres, 25, of 1890 Broad Street, Cranston, Rhode Island, for larceny over $1,500 and conspiracy charges.

Torres was apprehended as a result of an investigation by State Police after Johnston police had located him.

He was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and held overnight.

Torres faces a morning arraignment at Sixth Division District Court, where he will also be presented as a probation violator.
