STAMFORD — An Ansonia man was arrested Wednesday in Stamford on federal charges of fentanyl trafficking following an investigation linking him to two overdose deaths.
Marc H. Silverman, Acting U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut, and Stephen P. Belleau, Acting Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration for New England, announced Thursday that Daqwon Graham, also known as “Seagull” and “Energy,” 30, was arrested by authorities on High Ridge Road in Stamford.
According to court documents and statements made in court, investigators from the DEA’s Bridgeport High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force and Stamford Police Department identified Graham as a large-scale fentanyl distributor active throughout Fairfield County.
Authorities allege Graham’s fentanyl trafficking activities are connected to two fatal overdoses—a male victim in Branford in March 2023 and a female victim in Shelton in October 2024.
During January and February, undercover investigators made multiple controlled purchases of fentanyl from Graham.
When arrested Wednesday, he allegedly was in possession of approximately 400 grams of fentanyl.
Graham appeared following his arrest before U.S. Magistrate Judge S. Dave Vatti in Bridgeport and has been ordered detained pending further proceedings.
Graham faces charges of possession with intent to distribute 400 grams or more of fentanyl, carrying a mandatory minimum sentence of five years and a maximum of 40 years in prison, and with use of a communications device to facilitate a drug trafficking felony, which carries a maximum sentence of four years.
The case is under investigation by the DEA Bridgeport HIDTA Task Force, which includes personnel from the DEA Bridgeport Resident Office, Connecticut State Police, and Bridgeport, Danbury, Norwalk, Stamford and Stratford police departments.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Lauren C. Clark is prosecuting the case.
