MANCHESTER — Police arrested a 42-year-old man Tuesday in connection with multiple robberies and burglaries in town dating back to November.

Officers took Michael Rivera of Manchester into custody after locating him at his residence, police said.

He attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended following a brief pursuit.

Rivera was connected to four incidents, including three robberies at Ravi Mart, 208 West Middle Turnpike.

On Nov. 29, officers responded to Ravi Mart after an employee reported that a suspect entered the store, demanded money from the register, and left with approximately $2,000 in cash, police said.

Rivera was charged with third-degree burglary and third-degree larceny.

Police said a second robbery at Ravi Mart occurred on Jan. 10, when a suspect entered the store, demanded money, and took approximately $600 in cash.

Rivera was charged with third-degree burglary and fifth-degree larceny.

A third robbery at the same store happened on Jan. 13, police said.

The suspect allegedly demanded money and took approximately $400.

Rivera was charged with third-degree burglary and sixth-degree larceny.

The fourth incident happened on Jan. 14, when officers responded to Super Convenience Store, 469 Hartford Road, for a reported robbery.

Police said a suspect entered the store, demanded the employee open the register, and threatened to shoot him.

Although no weapon was displayed, the suspect kept his hands in his sweatshirt pockets, suggesting he was armed.

The suspect left with approximately $1,200 in cash.

Rivera was charged with first-degree robbery, second-degree threatening, and fourth-degree larceny in that case, police said.

In addition to the robbery and burglary charges, Rivera was also charged with interfering with an officer for attempting to evade arrest.

Police said Rivera was held on a $260,000 bond and transported to Manchester Superior Court on Wednesday morning for arraignment.
