Providence police arrest multiple suspects in motor vehicle stops

PROVIDENCE — Troopers from the Lincoln Woods Barracks arrested multiple individuals Tuesday on various charges following a series of motor vehicle stops in Providence and surrounding areas.

At 9:07 a.m., troopers arrested Emmanuel Traub, 34, of Providence, on charges of domestic violence—violation of a no-contact order, third offense; being a fugitive from justice out of North Attleboro for robbery; and obstruction of an officer in execution of duty.

The arrest followed a motor vehicle stop on Potters Avenue.

Traub was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and transported to Sixth Division District Court for arraignment.

At 11:07 a.m., troopers arrested Eduardo Mercado Saavedra, 26, of Providence, for possession of marijuana—over two ounces.

The arrest resulted from a motor vehicle stop on Elmwood Avenue.

Saavedra was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and transported to Sixth Division District Court for arraignment.

At 1:02 p.m., troopers arrested Robert Cote, 47, of Providence, on two counts for a Family Court bench warrant for failure to appear on a non-criminal charge for a reciprocal body attachment.

The arrest followed a motor vehicle stop on Moore Street.

Cote was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and transported to Family Court for arraignment.

At 4:00 p.m., troopers arrested Talasia Bliss, 22, of East Providence, for leaving the scene of an accident resulting in damage to an attended vehicle.

The arrest resulted from a barracks investigation and the Providence Police Department locating Bliss.

She was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, arraigned by a justice of the peace, and transported to the Adult Correctional Institutions Women’s Intake Center.

At 8:35 p.m., troopers arrested Corey McClelland, 20, of East Providence, on charges of driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor and/or drugs resulting in serious bodily injury, refusal to submit to a chemical test—first offense, and reckless driving.

The arrest followed a motor vehicle accident on Route 95 in Providence.

McClelland was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with minor injuries and was later released with a notice to appear at Sixth Division District Court.

Early Wednesday at 1:56 a.m., troopers arrested Stephen Anderson, 29, of Providence, on charges of driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor and/or drugs—BAC .10 to .15—first offense.

Breathalyzer tests measured his blood alcohol content at 0.117% and 0.111%.

The arrest resulted from a motor vehicle accident on Route 95 in Warwick.

Anderson was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, arraigned by a justice of the peace, and released into the custody of a responsible adult.
